ISLAMABAD / QUETTA - The Pakistan military has officially announced the conclusion of a high-intensity, week-long security offensive in Balochistan. The campaign, designated Operation Radd-ul-Fitna-1, has successfully transitioned from active combat to the stabilization phase, according to a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

Strategic Dismantling of Militant Networks

The operation was launched on January 26 following a series of coordinated attacks across the province. Military officials stated that the primary objective was to dismantle the operational capabilities of separatist groups that had targeted civilian infrastructure and security checkpoints.

During the offensive, security forces conducted intelligence-led raids in sensitive districts, including Panjgur, Nushki, and Harnai. Significant quantities of weapons, high-tech communication equipment, and logistical caches were seized during the clearance.

Casualty Report and Human Cost

The week of intense fighting resulted in significant casualties on both sides. The final report from the desk indicates:

  • Militant Fatalities: 216
  • Security Personnel: 22 martyred
  • Civilian Toll: 36 lives lost in crossfire and militant-led attacks

The military spokesperson emphasized that every precaution was taken to minimize collateral damage, though the complexity of urban and mountainous terrain presented significant challenges.

Path to Normalcy

While the "main phase" of the fighting has ended, the region remains under high alert. Targeted search operations and 24/7 surveillance are ongoing to ensure no remnants of the networks remain.

"The state will continue to provide a security umbrella for the people of Balochistan and the critical infrastructure projects that are vital for Pakistan's economic future," the statement concluded. Authorities are now working to restore full communication services and ensure the return of normal commercial activity across the province.
